A round-table discussion was held at the Fergana District Information and Library Center dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of Jumaniyoz Jabborov, People's Poet of Uzbekistan and a great creator of exalted examples of the art of the word.
The poet's rich legacy, his poems in a folk spirit and his heartfelt lines about the homeland, love, kindness and mutual care continue to warm hearts today.
Jumaniyoz Jabborov was born in 1930 in the Chimboy district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. From his youth he loved the magic of words and folk oral art, and wrote his first poems as early as his school years. His collections "Yuragim seni qoʻmsaydi", "Tong nafasi", "Yurtim" and "Doʻstlik kuylari" have taken a worthy place in the golden treasury of Uzbek literature.
During the event, participants became closely acquainted with the poet's works. The following lines by the poet are a fitting conclusion to our event:
“Yurtim, seni sevgan yurakda,
Hech qachon soʻnmas bir nur bor.
She’rlarimga jo boʻl, ey ona zamin,
Ruhimda abadiy uygʻoq bahor.”
